Champaign Central High School Renovation

Bodine wrapped up its work on a 180,000-square-foot addition and 170,000-square-foot renovation at Central High School in Champaign in fall of 2022. The spaces added and renovated on the project included:

Three renovated administrative spaces
Main gymnasium renovated
33 general classrooms renovated
11 new general classrooms
12 new science labs
Three new art rooms
New 750-seat auditorium
New career and technical education classrooms for manufacturing, auto and welding
New orchestra and band practice rooms
New kitchen, servery and cafeteria space
New culinary arts classroom
New gymnasium with attached storm shelter
New weight room
New wrestling practice facility

Bodine’s work on the project included power distribution; general lighting, theatrical lighting and site lighting; generator installation; structured cabling for telecommunications; integrated and educational audio/visual; intrusion detection; and fire alarm installation.
