Eaton’s switchgear modernization services offer cost-effective renovation to existing equipment, with minimal power interruptions and without total replacement. Solutions extend the useful life of aging electrical power systems by providing safe and reliable reconditioning of existing equipment, as well as new replacement circuit breakers and other components that improve reliability and safety.

  • Switchgear retrofill and conversions — Eaton’s alternate conversion (retrofill) solution for metal-enclosed and metal-clad switchgear can be custom engineered to satisfy specific application requirements, while the useful life of switchgear is extended using newer interrupting technologies and additional improvements.
  • Medium-voltage switchgear modernization and upgrades — Medium-voltage vacuum replacement circuit breakers are built brand new from the ground up to improve system reliability and provide technology upgrades. Eaton’s portfolio includes vacuum replacement breakers, breaker to vacuum starter replacements and ground and test devices. The units are designed to be electrical and mechanical equivalents of the power circuit breakers they replace, with no parts reused from the original breakers.
  • Custom panel shop — Eaton’s UL 508A and NEC 409.2 custom panel shops provide engineering, design, custom enclosures, metal fabrication and assembly for control panels.
