WEG’s W22line of electric motors was designed to make severe duty standard throughout the product line. W22 motors have advances and options throughout their design to improve durability, efficiency and ease of use.
W22 motors have met or exceeded numerous standards, including those in IEEE841 for balancing. These motors are also available in a Super Premium line for higher torques and low noise, among other features.
All cast-iron construction, including terminal box and fan cover, using high grade FC200 for mechanical strength and heat dissipation.
WEG painting system exceeds 200-hour ASTM 117 salt fog corrosion test.
Special corrosion-proof drains in both brackets that allow for continuous water draining.
WEG-exclusive WISE insulation system for long life on sine wave and VFD operation.
Oversized terminal box, allowing for easier installation of leads.
Motors in frame sizes 364T to 449T are equipped with the WSeal Sealing System, which is composed of a double-lip V-ring and metallic cap for a high degree of protection against dust and liquids. Motors 143T to 326T use a proven V-ring seal for an IP55 degree of protection.
A redesigned drive end shield includes fins for better heat dissipation, while the non-drive end has a smooth area to help with noise reduction.
The bracket-to-frame bolt area is reinforced to provide the motor with a stronger structure.
Grease channels from inner side through bearing for complete lubrication every time.
The insulation uses very low loss silicon steel with C4 coating, which is able to withstand burnout temperatures up to 500 degrees Celsius without efficiency impact.
Both coil heads are securely laced for added strength.
A continuous flow insulation system, developed by WEG, incorporates Class H materials and provides superior core penetration while virtually eliminating any trapped air bubbles.
